How to Order Food from Your IPhone
Two new applications on IPhone namely CityMint and GrubHub allow you to order food of your choice and have it delivered at your doorsteps. CityMint has a huge database of restaurants in San Francisco area. It will be adding more cities in the future to its database. CityMint is similar to Wokozi, a food ordering service in New York. Both of these sites are related to the dotcom deadpool site called Kozmo.
Now with these applications you don’t even need to be close to your computer to get your meal delivered. All you need is an IPhone or IPod Touch, Palm or Blackberry and you will be only minutes away from your meal.
CityMint helps you find great local eateries and places to order your meal quickly with just a few finger taps. It also has features like ordering your meal via SMS, or discount coupon codes to help you save money.
To start using CityMint, you will have to sign up for a free account. This you will have to do on your desktop computer since IPhones go directly to the sign in page. While signing up you will have to enter your mobile phone number and carrier. CityMint will then send your phone an activation code via SMS. Credit card information is optional, though you’ll need that information when you order your meal.
When you sign into CityMint and select “mobile order”, CityMint will display a list of restaurants in your local vicinity based upon the street address you had put in while registration. You can sort the list in a variety of ways, like based on cuisine, pickup or delivery etc.
Each displayed restaurant will display the name, hours of operation, and a link to a Google map. You will simply have to tap on the restaurant name you want to order food from and the street address, whether or not it offers pickup or delivery, what the minimum delivery amount is, and what the delivery fee is will be displayed on your screen.
