How to Put Your Restaurant’s Menu Online
A menu is one of the ways you present your restaurant online. So make sure that it is consistent with the product you are trying to sell. It doesn’t need to be very flashy. You don’t even have to shell out a huge amount of money to get it designed or printed. Nonetheless, it should be impressive and informative (should include the information regarding the contents of the dishes and their prices).
The first thing to consider while making an online menu is the cuisine and the menu items you will be offering. All the menu items should be displayed with their respective prices.
You will have to decide if you want a casual menu or a formal one. This decision should be in line with the restaurant. For example you would want a formal menu for a white-tablecloth restaurant and a casual menu for a casual eatery.
Categorize the different sections of the menu items like appetizers, soups and salads, entrees and desserts. Generally, the menu should be designed in the above order of menu items but you can give your own creative names to the different courses like appetizers can also be called starters and entrees can be called main course etc.
You can either design the menu using Microsoft word or Adobe or go in for the websites which can create the menu for you.
Make sure you choose a good color scheme for your online menu. This color scheme should ideally go well with the theme of your restaurant. Also, make sure that the color scheme doesn’t hinder readability of the menu items. Computer programs like Microsoft word give you the option of choosing whatever color you want to. You can select one color, see if you like it in the sample and change it if it doesn’t appeal to you.
